Welcome to the new AudreyMadness.Com!!  Although she looks the same, her belly as been completely overhauled to provide the tools needed to make this the premier Audrey site on the NET.  While we do operate a store on the site, the main thrust was to provide a unique and resourceful sight for all of your Audrey needs.  This is not intended to replace the current sites on the net but rather expose all of the available information available at a single point of resource.  For those of you new to Audrey, take a look at the What is Audrey? page.  For those of you who want to get ging, see our Resources page!  Do not forget to sign up for our newsletter, a monthly e-zine giving you the latest month's developments in the Audrey realm.

I consider myself somewhat technically savy.  I don't know how I missed this product before.  It may have been the high price or the niche market but I recently came across the  3Com Ergo Audrey again "for the first time".  The Audrey was originally designed as an internet appliance for those who did not need a full blown computer and offered a selection of great utilities including email, web browser, address book, and calendar with a great front end,  a color touch screen, built in modem, USB capability and Palm craddle synch functionalities.  This product was truly ahead of its time and this factor alone was probably the source of the high intro price tag ($499) which, in combination with the falling prices in the PC market and a slowing economy,  ultimately lead to the decision of 3Com to discontinue the whole internet appliance line of products.

Although 3Com no longer supports the Audrey, a strong underground movement of talented developers and tinkerers alike have made available to the public various upgrades and enhancements to the product.  Some of the enhancements simply provide additional functionality and abilities to the Audrey oem operating system.  Other enhancements are actually full blown implementations of a new look and feel of the product.

Through bulk purchasing of components, we are able to provide you with new and refurbished Audreys for a fraction of the original price.  Although the Audrey was originally designed for dial up, most users today will most likely be using the Audrey as part of their home network so an ethernet connector is included at no additional cost.  All of the units are tested and upgraded to your choice of freely available (public) images at no additional cost. We also offer for purchase Compact Flash Cards for use with the Audrey.  The flash cards will be set up with any available image which is requested at no additional cost.  I have personnally spent many hours trying to get the right combination of factors to make succesful flash images you can read the FAQs to understand how complicated the factors are (flashing the image is the easy part).  Further, for a small processing fee and shipping, we also offer a flashing service were we can either create an image on a provided Compact Flash Card or load an image onto a provided Audrey unit.
